Polarized vs. Non-Polarized Sunglasses

Polarized vs. Non-Polarized Sunglasses

We all know that an accessory can make or break a look, thus sunglasses are impactful.  Sunglasses can protect your eyes from the Sun's harmful UV rays and can complete your look.

But what do the polarized lenses really do?

If you had to choose between polarized and non-polarized what should you consider?  To begin with polarized have a really cool special coating that helps block out glare.  They even make things look sharper, clearer and the colors might be more defined.

 Why get polarized sunglasses?

The key element of having polarized lenses is to protect your eyes. It helps reduce the glare and reduce eye strain. They are also very helpful if you like to go outdoors. When going outdoors, having polarized lens can help against harmful UV rays. The polarized lens are coated and have a special filter that offsets damaging sun rays. The coat overlays the lens and protects it so that nothing gets through the gaps thus not reaching your eyes.

Why consider non-polarized?

Non-polarized lenses do not have this special coating and they do not reduce the same amount of glare from the sunlight.  They do protect somewhat from harmful UV rays. For outdoors we recommend polarized sunglasses. But hey, sometimes you are really sensitive and the polarized lens color sharpness bothers you.

Again, sunglasses are a great accessory, but also a great protection for your eyes.
